Francis Ngannou’s YouTube channel has released new footage from behind the scenes of the MVP MMA 1 gala broadcast on Netflix. Already at the beginning of the footage, fans could see a sharp exchange of words between the “Predator” and Jake Paul.
MVP MMA’s premiere gala was a huge success in terms of viewership. The organization reported that the event averaged 9.3 million viewers, and at its peak the fight of the evening was expected to be watched by up to nearly 17 million people. One of the heroes of the event was precisely Francis Ngannou, who faced Philipe Lins and brutally knocked out the Brazilian already in the first round.
Relations between Ngannou and Jake Paul have long been strained. The Cameroonian has in the past rejected the possibility of fighting “The Problem Child,” openly belittling the media fighter. Jake Paul eventually decided to fight Anthony Joshua – a rival he had previously long avoided. During the fight, the American at times looked as if he was looking more for a bring down than an exchange of punches, and the whole thing ended with a heavy knockout at the hands of the Briton.
Ahead of the MVP MMA 1 gala, both fighters have repeatedly hooked up in the media. One such situation Francis Ngannou decided to show in his latest vlog as well.
In the published footage, Jake Paul approached Ngannou and his team to greet them before the gala. Moments later, however, another verbal tussle began.
Jake began with a comment on the Cameroonian’s physique, suggesting that the man looked slimmer than usual. “Predator” immediately responded with a taunt.
– Were you frightened by what you saw? Because you should have been.
– No, nothing like that ,” replied Paul. – Why should I?
Ngannou, however, did not answer directly. The Cameroonian only laughed, and after a while he was asked about predictions for his fight.
– My prediction? Hmm, I just want to beat him. Maybe not as easily as you, but…. – he added while laughing.
Jake Paul quickly decided to deflect the ball and referred to Ngannou’s defeat of Anthony Joshua.
– Well this one, madness. It’s funny that Anthony Joshua finished you much faster than he finished me. It’s funny, very funny.
Ngannou did not remain indebted to the American.
– Well, yes, because he didn’t train for sprinting. Did you come face to face with him? I only saw him chasing you. I had no idea it was a fight,” continued Ngannou’s exchange of pleasantries.
Finally, Jake Paul again referred to the Cameroonian’s boxing experience.
– I know you’re not a boxer, so let me explain. The first rule of boxing is: hit and don’t get hit….
The entire exchange instantly circulated social media and reignited speculation about a potential fight between the two fighters. However, looking at the difference in punch power and size, many fans believe that Jake Paul would have huge problems in a direct clash with the “Predator.”
