Pavol Neruda head of the Czech-Slovak Oktagon MMA organization announces that they will already beat the KSW federation this year as far as ticket sales and other records are concerned.
To date, the European record for MMA event ticket sales has belonged to the KSW federation. The thriving Oktagon organization intends to beat the result of the first KSW Colosseum gala. The Czech-Slovak team has decided to conquer the German market. So far it has managed to sell 50,000 tickets for the Oktagon 62: Bigger Than Ever gala.
Pavol Neruda co-founder of Oktagon MMA, during an interview with RDX Sports, commented on the gala at the Frankfurt soccer stadium.
– To be honest, we thought that if we could sell out more than 40,000 people, it would be a success. This is our first gala in a stadium at this venue, of such a huge size. After two months, we already have 50,000 tickets sold. It’s absolute madness, and sales are still heading toward bigger numbers. We only have 8,000 left (to break the UFC record), so we are very close, and that would mean a lot to us.
The Oktagon MMA chief believes that such great ticket sales for the stadium gala will see his organization surpass KSW and take the number two position in the world, just behind the UFC.
– This would be a milestone and a testament to the tremendous maturity of Oktagon MMA as a brand. The moment we accomplish this, it will be clear that we are the second best MMA organization in the world right after the UFC. No one else is doing the kind of things we are doing. KSW does a good job, sells a lot of tickets and has those records of theirs, but we will be the bigger one. We’ve sold more tickets in a year, and that solidifies us in the number two position in the world.
