Oleksandr Usyk is eager for a blockbuster fight with UFC welterweight champion Alex Pereira. For the world boxing champion, it would be the last fight of his career.
As the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, Oleksandr Usyk has the right to dictate terms during contract negotiations for his next fight. The Ukrainian wants to be fair to the promise he made earlier and intends to fight the winner of the Daniel Dubois vs Joseph Parker bout.
Oleksandr Usyk confirmed such a boxing clash during an interview with TNT Sports. It was in this interview that the Ukrainian admitted that he has only two fights left to fight. Usyk completely surprised the journalist conducting the interview by suggesting who would be the rival of the world boxing champion in the last fight of his career.
– What’s next? Maybe a showcase fight with Alex Pereira. Maybe, why not? Alex wants it.
Oleksandr Usyk is the world champion of the WBC, WBO and WBA federations. The Ukrainian was also IBF federation champion but had to vacate the title due to contractual obligations. The undefeated 38-year-old has twice defeated Tyson Fury at mega-gals in Riyadh.
Alex Pereira is a former UFC middleweight champion, who is the current champion of the welterweight division. Poatan will face a title defense in March at UFC 313, with the Brazilian’s opponent being Magomed Ankalaev.
