Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury will fight a rematch bout in December, and now the amount of money the two fighters will collectively rake in has been revealed. The salary is huge and tops the one from the first fight.
MMA fans outside of Saturday’s UFC 310 gala are unlikely to have much excitement ahead of them as far as December is concerned. Of course, there will be other galas taking place, but no doubt as time goes on, most combat sports fans will turn their eyes toward the rematch fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.
The two great fists will face each other again on December 21 at a gala in Riyadh. In the first bout Oleksandr Usyk was the winner, but due to previous contractual arrangements it was Tyson Fury who earned by far the more money.
The Englishman earned $105 million for the first fight, while $45 million went to the Ukrainian’s account. Thus, it is easy to calculate that the total amount of salaries was $160 million. Before the second fight, the stakes skyrocketed.
The combined salary of the two fighters for the rematch is huge at $190 million. We don’t yet know the percentage split of the gongs, however, it is known that this time it was Oleksandr Usyk who guaranteed himself the proverbial bigger piece of the pie.
