Oleksandr Usyk has conveyed that he intends to prove himself in another sport after his boxing career ends. The heavyweight champion has already signed a contract.

Oleksandr Usyk has made professional boxing history with his two victories over Tyson Fury. The Ukrainian is at the top of the royal division and comfortably seated on the throne. After the December rematch, Usyk intends to rest and wait for the outcome of other bouts.

There is much talk that Oleksandr Usyk’s next opponent will be the winner of the Daniel Dubois vs Joseph Parker duel. There are also other contenders lined up, just to mention the equally exciting juxtaposition in which Zhilei Zhang and Agit Kabayel will meet.

Oleksandr Usyk has admitted that he wants to prove himself in another sport after his adventure with professional boxing ends. The Ukrainian wants to fulfill a childhood dream, which he talked about on the Ring podcast.

Fans expected that the fighter might be tempted to enter kickboxing or MMA meanwhile Oleksandr Usyk completely surprised by his choice.

– I want to become a footballer. I even have a professional contract signed with Polissya Zhytomyr. It’s a professional Ukrainian club that plays in the top league. You know Shakhtar Donetsk. Polissya won against them.

– I have been a Dynamo Kyiv supporter since I was a child. My dad took me to their stadium for the first time. However, I hope to someday score a goal in this stadium in the colors of Polissya, which gave me a chance.

FC Polissya is a soccer club from the city of Zhytomyr, located in central Ukraine east of Kyiv. The team plays in the top Ukrainian league and is currently fifth in the table. Of course, Usyk’s move is related to the fact that one of the businessmen investing in the club is also a sponsor of the fist player.
