Paddy Pimblett and Ilya Topuria rather unexpectedly came face to face in the octagon at UFC 317. Dana White commented on the incident between the lightweight division fighters.
Ilia Topuria knocked out Charles Oliveira in spectacular fashion at UFC 317, thus claiming the UFC lightweight championship belt. The fighter representing Georgia and Spain thus added a second championship title to his collection.
Topuria began making comments about Paddy Pimblett after the win, and the Englishman then entered the octagon. The fighters thus had the opportunity to face each other and begin promoting a potential future fight.
Paddy Pimblett addressed Ilia Topuria with the following words.
– Bravo homie, bravo. It was a hard knockout. I admit you have respect for that, however, you will never knock me out.
Ilya Topuria responded strongly to assurances from the bared Englishman.
– Exactly the same thing will happen to you, I’ll knock your head off, or surrender you, you pipsqueak. I will put my balls on your forehead. You can be knocked out even before the fight therefore get your rump out of here and get the hell out.
Dana White commented on the scenes between Pimblett and Topuria during a press conference.
– I don’t know who the hell let him in there? This should never have happened… let’s start with that. I was already in my room, otherwise it wouldn’t have happened. I didn’t think about the juxtapositions today except for the Van fight. Also, we will see.
As you can see, the president of the UFC organization has not decided to officially confirm the juxtaposition at this point. White only confirmed that the Pantoja vs Van skirmish has been given the green light by UFC executives.
