Paweł Pawlak believes that his title bout against Piotr Kuberski deserves much greater publicity. “Plastinho” hopes that KSW will promote the December middleweight title unification bout more aggressively in the coming weeks.

Paweł Pawlak has no intention of slowing down after his victory over Polish MMA legend Mamed Khalidov. The champion will return to the cage as early as December. In the main event of XTB KSW 124, “Plastinho” will face interim champion Piotr Kuberski, with the middleweight title unification on the line.

Fans have been waiting a long time for a direct showdown between these two. This made the way KSW initially announced the matchup all the more noteworthy. Instead of an elaborate announcement or a special video, they primarily released a standard social media post. The trailer promoting the fight wasn’t unveiled until the most recent event.

In an interview with Fansportu TV, Pawlak was asked how he felt about the first promotional event for his bout with “Qbear.” As it turned out, the champion was away on a previously scheduled trip at the time of the announcement.

” I don’t know, I was in Turkey at the time, ” Pawlak said with a laugh. ” We were supposed to have a face-to-face meeting then, but I told them I’d already booked a trip.” Because every four months I try to clear my head somewhere, and now that I’m starting my training period, I’m fully focused on my goal. I had a trip planned, but KSW wanted to set up a face-to-face meeting for us,” he added.

Even before XTB KSW 121, Wojsław Rysiewski explained that the timing of the fight’s announcement was no coincidence. The bout was unveiled during a CANAL+ event where the network presented its programming schedule. The organization was therefore also keen to capitalize on its television partner’s major event.

Pawlak, however, has a point of reference in the form of his previous major bout. The buildup to his fight with Mamed Khalidov was much more extensive, and the champion makes no secret of the fact that he would expect a similar approach ahead of his bout with Kuberski as well.

– My fight with Mamed was promoted pretty well overall. They made a video and all that, so, well… I think so, yeah—KSW should probably promote it a bit more. It’s a great fight between the two best fighters in KSW, in my opinion. I’m an unhittable and unbeatable fighter. Piotrek is, let’s call him a “strongman,” the “KSW badass,” who puts on brutal fights. So, yeah, we should get more of this recognition. More media coverage. This is the fight everyone’s been waiting two years for. KSW will definitely come up with something.

It’s hard to be surprised by “Plastinho’s” expectations. On one side will be a full-fledged champion who has just defeated Khalidov; on the other, Kuberski, known for his spectacular style and consistent early finishes.

XTB KSW 124 is set to finally settle the situation at the top of the middleweight division. Pawlak holds the official belt, Kuberski holds the interim title, and their head-to-head matchup will determine the division’s sole champion. Before they both step into the cage, however, “Plastinho” is hoping that KSW will give this bout the promotion it deserves based on its sporting significance.
