The PFL organization has announced the names of participants in the welterweight category tournament. More than that, it was announced that the first four PFL galas in 2025 will be held in Orlando, Florida.
After changing the format from a regular season and play-off phase to standard tournaments, today we learned the first major details about the names and locations of PFL events in early 2025. Let’s start with the fact that the first four events with tournament bouts in different weight categories will take place in Orlando.
Universal Studios will host the PFL organization’s fighters on April 3, April 11, April 18 and May 1. It is worth noting that none of the galas in Orlando will be held on Saturday. 2 events will be held on Thursdays, and the other two on Fridays.
But let’s get down to specifics, i.e. the names of the tournament participants in the welterweight division. It’s interesting because the eight competitors include Jason Jackson, former Bellator champion, and Magomed Umalatov, a 2024 PFL play-off finalist.
Further on it’s just as interesting because the lineup also includes room for another former Bellator champion. The well-known Andrey Koreshkov and Logan Storley are expected to take care of the sports level of the competition.
Rounding out the pack are PFL Europe champion Florim Zendeli, former ACA champion Mukhamed Berkhamov, former Pancrase champion Masayuki Kikuiri, and former Cage Warriors Greek champion Giannis Bachar. A schedule presented by the PFL shows that fighters in the up to 77 kilograms division will enter SmartCage at a gala scheduled for April 3.
