Piotr Kuberski spoke out after parting ways with Ankos MMA. “Some parts were taken out of context.”

Piotr Kuberski decided to address his high-profile split from Ankos MMA Poznań. The interim KSW middleweight champion presented his own perspective and suggested that several key facts had been omitted from previous statements regarding the situation.

News of “Qbear’s” departure from Ankos made the rounds in the media just before his last fight, in which he defeated Michał Michalski. Earlier, coach Andrzej Kościelski had already commented on the circumstances surrounding the end of their collaboration in an interview with InTheCagePL, presenting his version of events.

Now Piotr Kuberski himself has commented on the matter. In a conversation with Artur Mazur, he emphasized that despite ending his association with the Poznań club, he still has enormous respect for the people with whom he spent a significant part of his career.

– I spent 10 wonderful years there. I know those guys; I love them. The coach and I had different approaches, but out of respect for various issues, I won’t comment on that. What I can say is that I’d like to ask the coach why he didn’t mention our January conversation in this interview.

The interim KSW champion noted that he disagrees with some of the coverage that followed the coach’s interview. In his opinion, earlier agreements that were relevant to the entire situation were omitted.

– When he came back, when we talked, when he agreed to all the issues related to the coaches—unfortunately, he didn’t take that into account. And I think he should have said that. Certain parts were taken out of context, and I don’t agree with that. I’ve been a fighter for many, many years. I’ve trained at various clubs. It’s not like I started looking for something new after winning 10 fights.

Kuberski faces another major challenge. All signs point to him facing middleweight champion Paweł Pawlak in his next bout, with the unification of the titles on the line. It’s possible that this long-awaited clash could take place before the end of the year. The most likely date remains December, when the KSW organization traditionally puts on one of its strongest end-of-season events.
