Rafael Fiziev vs Ignacio Bahamondes at UFC in Azerbaijan

Rafael Fiziev remains in the lightweight category, and his opponent at the UFC gala in Azerbaijan will be Ignacio Bahamondes.

Rafael Fiziev, however, will not change weight division to a lower one. It’s all due to the event in his native Baku and the interesting opponent that fell to “Ataman” for the event in Azerbaijan. Fiziev is scheduled to appear in the second fight of the evening, and his opponent will be the sprawling Ignacio Bahamondes.

The situation of the two fighters is quite different. Rafael Fiziev has a series of three defeats in a row while the talented Chilean has recorded three wins in a row. Despite his poor recent results, it is the Kazakh-born son of an Azerbaijani cover man who is ranked higher in the UFC rankings.

Fiziev, despite the loss, occupies a solid eleventh place while “La Jaula” has just jumped to fifteenth place after an impressive win over Jalin Turner. For Bahamondes, the duel with Fiziev will be the biggest challenge of his career so far.

For Ataman, a skirmish with a rival as tall as eighteen centimeters with a much better reach is a considerable risk. Despite his recent successes, Bahamondes is still not a recognizable name, and a possible defeat could ultimately close the door to big fights for Fiziev.

Rafael Fiziev and Ignacio Bahamondes will face each other in the second fight of the evening of a gala in Azerbaijan. The event will take place on June 21 in Baku.
