Rafal Haratyk and Marcin Wojcik will face each other in a rematch at KSW 100, with the light heavyweight championship belt at stake in Haratyk vs Wojcik 2.
The KSW 100 event will feature a bout at the top of the light heavyweight division, in which Rafal Haratyk (19-5-2) will make his first defense of the championship belt. His opponent will be Marcin Wojcik (20-9), the number one ranked fighter in this weight class. It will also be a rematch of a fight from the championship tournament. The duel will take place already on November 16 at PreZero Arena Gliwice.
Rafal Haratyk and Marcin Wojcik met in the KSW cage in February this year, when both took part in the championship tournament at the XTB KSW Epic gala. The men faced off in the very first round of competition, where Haratyk proved to be better and knocked out Wojcik. After this clash, Haratyk faced Damian Piwowarczyk in the final bout, won on points and won the welterweight belt. Wojcik returned to competition at XTB KSW 98 and also faced Damian Piwowarczyk, whom he submitted in the first round of the bout, opening the door to a rematch with Rafal Haratyk.
Rafal Haratyk entered the organization with a bump and sent Ivan Erslan to the boards in the first round of their bout last October. After this victory the popular “Polish Tank” competed in the championship tournament and won the welterweight belt. Rafal has been competing in professional MMA since 2010, and to date he has fought 26 fights, nineteen of which he has won. Six times he won by sending his rivals to the boards, and five times he triumphed by submission. The popular “Polish Tank” gathered experience fighting not only in Poland, but also in South Africa, France, Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus. Among others, he competed under the flag of EFC, Babylon MMA, ACA, FEN and Ares organizations, where he was a contender for the middleweight title.
Marcin Wojcik has fought nine fights in the round cage. Last November, he returned to KSW after a break from fighting for the European MMA market leader, knocked out Henrique da Silva in impressive style and was awarded a bonus for it. In his next bout he faced tournament competition for the welterweight belt, but had to acknowledge the superiority of Rafal Haratyka. The loss interrupted a great series of five wins in a row by Marcin, who, however, quickly returned to the road of victories and effectively submitted Damian Piwowarczyk. Wojcik has fought 29 fights to date, 20 of which he won. Eighteen times he triumphed before time, eleven times he sent his rivals to the boards, and seven times he won by submission. To his credit, he has won championship belts of the FEN and Gladiator Arena organizations.
