We will find out in the near future what decision Israel Adesanya will make. Coach Eugene Bareman gave new news on his player.
Israel Adesanya was a champion of the UFC organization in the middleweight category. Unfortunately, the Nigerian lost three fights in a row, totaling a simultaneous four losses in his last five starts. After his defeat to Nassourdin Imavov, the popular Izzy did not want to specify what steps and decisions he would take.
Both Israel Adesanya and trainer Eugene Bareman were present in Miami at the UFC 314 gala, of course, all because of Alexander Volkanovski, who faced Diego Lopes in the fight of the evening. Although it was Volk who was the main focus of the evening, it turns out that the coach also had the opportunity to speak with Adesanya for a while.
Retirement or fighting what will Israel Adesanya choose?
Eugene Bareman gave new news on the City Kickboxing team’s flagship fighter during an interview with Submission Radio reporters.
– We had one short conversation on the matter, it happened in Volkanovski’s locker room. He said to me, “Listen man, I think I will fight another fight.” Also, these are our little conversations that happen from time to time. On the basis of: “This is how I want to fight”, “I’m ready to fight”.
The coach pointed out that his fighter will have to once again sacrifice everything to properly prepare for the fight. According to Baran, this is what could be crucial as far as Adesanya’s return is concerned.
– We talk about whether he should return, whether he feels the desire to return, whether there is a hunger to fight. For me, however, the most important thing is that he presents the right level. I am patient as far as Izzy is concerned because he has already achieved everything in the sport, however, the truth is that he has lost three fights in a row. Israel realizes how much sacrifice and dedication the training regime requires to fight at the highest level, to fight the best. Volk has now set an example for him, his work ethic is at an incredible height. Believe me, it’s hard for fighters who are at the peak of their careers to give so much of themselves, and it’s even harder for those who are in the twilight of their careers to do so. Adesanya has to decide if he wants to go through this again.
Israel Adesanya fought his last fight in February and lost it by knockout in the second round. The 36-year-old fighter will have to make a decision on whether and when he wants to return to the octagon. Postponing it may make it even harder for Izzy to jump into top gear and prepare properly.
