Roman Szymanski has described at length the knee injury that ruled him out of participation in KSW 112. The fighter suffered the injury at the penultimate training session just before the end of the camp.
Roman Szymanski was once again very unlucky. In March he suffered an infection due to which he had to withdraw at the last minute from his fight with Maciej Kazieczka at KSW 104. Now once again the experienced fighter will not take part in a KSW event due to health problems.
At the KSW 112 gala in Szczecin, the Red Dragon fighter was scheduled to face Valeriu Mircea in a clash that was to crown the trilogy. Unfortunately, last week it was announced that this fight will not take place due to an injury suffered by the Pole.
Roman Szymanski on knee injury
Roman Szymanski posted an extensive post on his IG account where he frankly wrote that in a sport as demanding as MMA it takes not only hard work, but also a lot of luck.
– “Fate wants to play poker with me. Once it gives me once it takes away.” These words are probably known to the whole of Poland, that’s how the sport is. You need not only talent, perseverance and hard work, but, above all, a lot of luck to make it all work out as expected. This time the fate was not good, on the last straight of preparation, I catch a knee injury and fall off the KSW 112 schedule.
Roman Szymanski, in a further post, confirmed that he suffered the injury at the penultimate training session.
– Exactly on the penultimate training session ending the preparations, during the “task” I tore the cruciate ligament and to this was added a rupture of the meniscus. I’m already after an MRI, examination and an orthopedist’s opinion, everything indicates that fortunately the situation will be managed without surgery. So he promises that as soon as I heal the injuries we are back! With redoubled strength. Thank you to everyone who keeps their fingers crossed for me, cheering and supporting my career. YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME SEE YOU ON THE STAND.
We hope that in Szymanski’s case the limit of bad luck has already been exhausted, and we wish the fighter a speedy recovery. Usually with knee injuries fighters pause a minimum of six months, so we should expect Roman Szymanski to report to the KSW round cage at the end of April at the earliest.
