Salahdine Parnasse and Marian Ziolkowski will face each other at KSW 106 in Lyon. After Marcin Held’s injury, the KSW office has apparently decided that up to three times the fight.

Salahdine Parnasse (20-2) a double KSW champion, was scheduled to defend his light heavyweight belt against Marcin Held. However, the Pole had to withdraw from the bout at KSW 106 due to a rib injury. On May 10, Marian Ziolkowski (25-9-1 1NC) former light heavyweight champion, whose history has already intertwined with Parnasse’s twice, will enter the championship fight against the Frenchman.

The story of Marian Ziolkowski’s fight with Salahdine Parnasse has been written for years. Both fighters had long wanted this confrontation and were first matched against each other in November 2022. Marian Ziolkowski, who held the light heavyweight championship belt at the time, however, had to withdraw from the duel due to injury. Sebastian Rajewski stepped in in his place, and the interim belt was put on the line for the clash. Parnasse won the bout before time and won the championship title.

The unification of the light heavyweight belts and the fight between Ziolkowski and Parnasse was supposed to take place in June 2023 at the XTB KSW Colosseum 2 gala, but this time, too, fate thwarted those plans. Just before the actual clash, Ziolkowski suffered an injury and the duel did not take place. The popular “Golden Boy” then relinquished his belt, and the Frenchman became a full-fledged light heavyweight champion.

After 2.5 years since Ziolkowski’s first showdown with Parnasse, the men will finally meet in a round cage at a gala in France. Parnasse will make his third-ever defense of the light heavyweight belt in front of his home crowd, while Ziolkowski will try for the first time to regain the title he never lost in a fight.
