Sean O’Malley on Ilia Topuria’s family problems

Sean O’Malley commented on the family problems faced by Ilia Topuria. The former UFC champion expressed his understanding on the matter.

Ilia Topuria recently announced a break from competing in the UFC related to private matters. It quickly came to light that it was about the separation from his wife Georgina, and the champion himself confirmed that it was a time in which he needed to focus on his children rather than the sport.

Sean O’Malley is among the athletes who like to comment not only on what happens in the octagon, but also on everything that happens to fighters in their private lives. It should therefore come as no surprise that Sugar addressed what happened to Topuria.

Sean O’Malley admitted that he sympathizes with Ilia Topuria and that the situation of the lightweight division champion is very difficult.

– It’s weak, and everything happens in public which makes it even worse. When you’re going through this kind of g*wn, you definitely don’t want to be in the middle of a preparation camp for a fight. If childcare is added to it, it really makes it hard to deal with. I honestly feel sorry for the guy.

O’Malley is one of several fighters who supported Topuria and expressed understanding about the situation. Openly good words were also offered to Ilia by Max Holloway, who supported the Georgian when he announced his break from fighting.
