Sean O’Malley has already undergone hip surgery. The American wants to return to competing soon. O’Malley revealed the planned date for his return to the UFC octagon.
Sean O’Malley lost his cock category championship belt in mid-September at the UFC’s Noche gala. The American admitted that he came out to fight despite a hip contusion injury he suffered ten weeks before the Las Vegas gala.
O’Malley first admitted after the fight that Merab was clearly superior, but later changed his mind and admitted that in fact he should have been the winner on the scorecards. In the end, it will be a long time before a possible rematch takes place. All due to the fact that O’Malley had to undergo surgery.
In a recent youtube video, Sean O’Malley appeared on crutches and confirmed that he had already undergone surgery and revealed a planned date for his return to the UFC octagon.
– I underwent surgery on Thursday, it’s been two days and I feel fantastic. I will come back better than ever. I will start sparring next week. I’ll do everything properly, recover as soon as I can and want to fight. Everyone warns me not to come back too soon. Everything will be fine, I want to fight as soon as possible, because I am still young. I’m turning 30 this month, I’ll go through rehabilitation and come back in April, May, June 2025 at the latest. March would be crazy, but who knows? We’ll see what comes out of it, I’ll evaluate the form day by day.
O’Malley will therefore return in the second quarter of 2025 at the earliest. Assuming, of course, that the rehabilitation and training process goes the fighter’s way. Sean stressed that he is already 30 years old and wants to fight as often as possible while he is young.
