Alex Pereira has relayed that he will be joined by Sean Strickland in Salt Lake City. The former middleweight champion will train alongside Poatan ahead of UFC 307.
Alex Pereira will defend his UFC welterweight championship belt at UFC 307, with the Brazilian facing Khaled Rountree on October 5. Fans are expecting an interesting clash between two fighters who specialize in standup.
Alex Pereira has let his fans know that he has already checked in to Salt Lake City. Poatan posted a new vlog episode on his youtube channel. Pereira mentioned that he has fought in Utah in the past. Last year, Alex faced Jan Blachowicz in Salt Lake City.
Back then, the 37-year-old fighter showed up two weeks before the duel, but now he arrived as much as three weeks earlier. Alex Pereira explained that it was all due to the city’s climate and the fact that the city is 1,300 meters above sea level.
– It’s hard to train here because of the climate, the high altitude. We have done it in the past, I fought Jan Blachowicz. We trained here for 2 weeks then, now we will train for 3 weeks. It will be better.
Alex Pereira is very pleased with what conditions he found locally, as well as with the team that will assist him in his preparations. Poatan revealed the secret and relayed that he will be joined in Salt Lake City by Sean Strickland, former middleweight champion and former rival. The fighters have become cordially chummy and are supporting each other in preparation for their fights.
– We have a great team here. We have Glover Teixeira, two coaches, Yousri Belgaroui. Next week Sean Strickland will join us. I am very happy with the preparations.
