Things are getting really hot ahead of UFC 328. Sean Strickland has hit the headlines again after making a statement that goes far beyond the standard trash talk. The American hit back not only at Khamzat Khimaev, but also at fighters outside the US.
Until recently, there were many indications that Nassourdine Imavov would be the next contender. However, there were claims that his juxtaposition with Chimaev might not happen due to their backgrounds. Ultimately, it was Strickland who got his chance.
Strickland without censorship. Strong statement on non-U.S. rivals
During a meeting with the media, the former champion was asked about the backstory of the situation and how he perceives jumping over another contender. The answer was, as expected, very blunt.
“The UFC does this. They go find these shitty f*cking people in these third-world f*cking countries and, like, do you really give a f*ck about a French guy that doesn’t even claim f*cking France? … UFC is ruining the sport. We’ve accepted Alex Pereira because Alex is a f*cking American. Lives in America, loves f*cking pssy, maybe a little bit too much, but we accepted this f*cker because he’s like the American dream, right? We look at Alex like, ‘You’re Brazilian, but you’re also American’,” Strickland said.
“Imavov, these motherf*ckers, we don’t accept you guys. We don’t even want to f*cking see you guys. You could be the best fighter in the world, but nobody gives a f*ck.”
Strickland’s statement momentarily spread across the web and triggered an avalanche of comments. One thing is certain – the conflict before the clash with Chimaev is gaining momentum and is already stirring up huge emotions among fans.
