Szymon Bajor and Augusto Sakai will face each other in a clash of former contenders for the heavyweight belt. The fighters’ duel will take place at KSW 105 in Gliwice.
One of the fights of the royal weight class of the XTB KSW 105 gala in Gliwice will feature a clash of former contenders for the belt. Szymon Bajor, number five among KSW‘s top heavyweights, will face Augusto Sakai ranked seventh. The confrontation will take place on April 26 at PreZero Arena Gliwice.
Szymon Bajor is one of the more experienced MMA fighters in Poland. To date, he has fought 36 fights, 25 of which he has won. He gathered experience not only in Poland, but also in Japan, Wales, Russia, Germany and Slovakia. He fought for such organizations as PFL and Rizin. In 2023 he clashed for the KSW belt with Phil De Fries, but had to acknowledge the Englishman’s superiority in the round cage.
After this duel he faced Viktor Pešta and returned to the road of victories. He last competed last August and lost on points to Matheus Scheffel. The Universal Fight Team club representative is a former interim champion of the FEN organization and a versatile fighter who has knocked out his rivals eleven times and won by submission nine times.
Augusto Sakai made his KSW debut last June. He faced Phil De Fries for the championship belt, but was not up to the challenge. The Brazilian has been competing in professional MMA since 2011, during which time he fought 23 fights, and won fifteen of them. Eleven times he finished his rivals before time by sending them to the boards, and six times he won already in the first round.
Sakai has fought for the Bellator and UFC organizations. He has fought nine fights in the American octagon. The fighter from the Country of Coffee has victories over such fighters as Andrei Arlovski, former UFC champion, and Marcin Tybura, Poland’s top heavyweight fighter.
