One of the top heavyweight contenders wants to replace Jon Jones and fight Tom Aspinall.
Jailton Almeida offered that if Jon Jones doesn’t sour on fighting Tom Aspinall then he would be happy to step into the octagon instead of the American. The Brazilian suggested that the rank of the clash should be raised to a full-fledged title fight.
The Brazilian’s words will probably not please Jones, as it would mean that the UFC organization would deprive the American of his championship belt. Almeida, while suggesting a skirmish with Aspinall, stuck a pin in another heavyweight.
– If the fight with Jon Jones does not happen then let’s fight the champion. Forget about Ciryl Gane, he has avoided you in the past, and now he doesn’t want to fight me. Besides, he has already lost twice in fights for the championship belt, and in the last fight the judges robbed his rival of a win.
Jailton Almeida has won eight of his nine fights in the UFC octagon. Malhadinho specializes in grappling however he also has wins on his record following ground and pound strikes on the ground. Almeida is currently ranked sixth in the UFC rankings.
