The favorite of the duel was the experienced Stephen Thompson, who has many well-known names on his roster. However, Joaquin Buckley emerged victorious from the fight, who in the third round marred his entry into the legs went low under the opponent’s punch line and delivered a powerful right. Thompson took the hit and immediately fell to the mat under the net. Buckley then finished to his opponent, where he finished him off with punches on the ground.
For Joaquin Buckley, this is undoubtedly the most valuable scalp of his UFC career to date. “New Mansa” added his fifth win in a row and with the victory over Thompson he will probably jump into the top ten of the rankings.
