UFC fighter scared and refused to fight Alex Pereira

A fighter of the UFC organization was scared and refused to fight Alex Pereira. Chris Curtis stressed that he was frightened by the Brazilian’s huge size.

Chris Curtis is an experienced 37-year-old MMA fighter who fought for the PFL organization before moving to the UFC. The American is famous for not refusing to fight even against opponents younger than himself. Curtis, who has 42 professional fights to his credit in a recent interview with the MMAJunkie portal, admitted that he once turned down an offer from the matchmakers of the world’s best MMA league.

– I never refuse to fight, unless your name is Alex Pereira. Then I definitely say no. Besides, I’m here to fight everyone, I just want to have fun with it.

Chris Curtis admitted that two years ago an offer was received for a duel with Alex Pereira. Nicknamed The Action Man, the fighter did not accept the offer. Curtis motivated his decision by the fact that he was supposed to jump on the schedule 2-3 weeks before the gala. Moments later, however, he added that he had no intention at all to fight Poatan, whose size impressed him greatly.

– They offered me a fight with Pereira in the first half of 2022, before the fight with Bruno Silva, or was it a bit later when Sean Strickland finally took that clash? In any case, I thought at the time ‘no, f**k, I’m not going to fight this guy jumping in as a replacement, there’s no chance of that. Normally I don’t want to fight him, let alone after a short camp’.

– I met him in an elevator at Madison Square Garden in New York. People who don’t know him don’t realize how big he is. Pereira is so huge that it’s scary. Also pi**ing it off, at the time I refused because I knew I was accepting all the other fights and I could afford it.
