UFC: Jan Błachowicz Defeated in Belgrade. Navajo Stirling Defeated the Pole by TKO

Jan Błachowicz’s fight against Navajo Stirling at UFC Belgrade is now behind us. The former light heavyweight champion had a chance to get back on the winning track as he faced one of the division’s most promising fighters.

Jan Błachowicz returned to the Octagon after another extended hiatus. For years, the “Prince of Cieszyn” was among the world’s top light heavyweight fighters and has defeated many UFC legends. Although the last few years haven’t been easy for him, the Polish fighter made no secret of the fact that he still believes he can return to competing for the highest honors. In Belgrade, he wanted to prove that he’s still a force to be reckoned with in the race for the top spots.

Navajo Stirling entered the bout as an undefeated fighter from New Zealand. The young fighter jumped onto the fight card as a replacement for Bogdan Guskov and immediately faced the biggest challenge of his career. The City Kickboxing representative is known for his excellent stand-up skills and outstanding physical conditioning. A victory over the former UFC champion could open the door for him to the very top of the light heavyweight division.

UFC: Jan Błachowicz vs. Navajo Stirling — Who Won?

Round 1 – Błachowicz took the center of the cage and blocked Stirling’s first kicks. Navajo stumbled while attempting a high kick, but Janek was unable to take the fight to the ground. The Pole ended up in a clinch with his back against the fence, where he landed a few knees to the torso before breaking free. The New Zealander kicked at Błachowicz’s lead leg, and Błachowicz countered with a left! Stirling stepped back, took another strike, and clinched, catching his breath. Stirling fought on the retreat but continued to land low kicks and land jabs. Stirling landed a hook under the Pole’s elbow, who moments later took a left himself! Błachowicz crashed to the canvas and curled up to protect himself from Stirling’s follow-up punches, as Stirling maintained his perfect record.

Result: Navajo Stirling won by TKO in the 1st round.
