UFC owners are not going to put up their own money for Dana White’s ideas and projects. Mark Shapiro president of TKO Group will not financially support investment in boxing.

It’s not a well-known fact that Dana White enjoys boxing fights however, he doesn’t get along with the people who currently create and manage boxing federations. The head of the UFC organization in late September during a conversation with reporters said.

– In the last thirty years, people keep talking about the decline of boxing. Well, that’s what we are still talking about boxing. I’ve always had an idea in my head of what it should all look like. I don’t know if it is feasible, but we are going to test it. I’m going to enter the sport full force.

On Wednesday, during a meeting at which the financial results of the TKO Group company were presented and discussed, there was talk of boxing. Mark Shapiro, that is, the president and chief operating officer of TKO Group, addressed the topic.

– First of all, Dana White’s comments and statements do not have to fully agree with our view and vision of the company. Dana says many things, he has a lot of passion and we love him for that. He is the best MMA promoter, and if he started promoting boxing he would excel at that as well.

– What I can say is the well-known fact that boxing is broken to pieces. The sport has fallen low, it is damaged. We believe in giving it a chance to grow and progress. However, if we ever enter the world of boxing we intend to do it organically, we will not buy any federations or merge with other companies. Simply put, we don’t intend to write a check. If we ever move forward with boxing promotion it will only be when the right partner comes along to sponsor it all and pay us for the work.

In conclusion, it is clear from the words of Director Shapiro that TKO Group does not intend to finance boxing projects and will deal with promoting the sport when a powerful investor comes along.

At the very end, it is worth mentioning that in recent days a decision was made to take over the Professional Bull Riders organization. This is a league that organizes more than 200 events a year. During the events, cowboys representing professional clubs ride bulls. Although the amount of the purchase of the PBR and the IMG and On Location companies was more than $3 billion, according to information, TKO Group paid for the three entities with shares, not currency.
