Valeriu Mircea defeated Wilson Varela after a strong fight at KSW 112, and the Moldovan will retain his top spot in the KSW rankings.
Valeriu Mircea and Wilson Varela faced off in one of the most interesting bouts of the KSW 112 gala in Szczecin. Originally, the Moldovan’s opponent was to be Roman Szymanski, who dropped out of the fight due to a knee injury. Consequently, the duel between Lone Wolf and Prototype was contracted at catchweight up to 73 kilograms.
Both fighters are linked by a heavy knockout loss to Salahadin Parnasse. The Frenchman has already managed to pick himself up and rebuild, and even reached for the lightweight division title of the Hexagone MMA organization. For Mircea, this will be his first appearance in the KSW cage in a year and a half.
Wilson Varela started with a low kick. Mircea responded with an identical attack. At the end of the first minute, Valeriu attacked with a strong punch, but Varela easily let the blow pass. Wilson launched a strong low kick, with which he took out the Moldovan. Valeriu hit back with a good left hook. Two interesting actions with low kicks performed by Mircea. The Moldovan rocks and brings out a voluminous right but the Frenchman again stepped out of the punch line. Mircea hits with a long straight to the body. Excellent wrestling throw performed by the Moldovan.
Valeriu Mircea fired a powerful low kick. The Moldovan representative looks like a more cross-sectional fighter. Mircea is increasingly attacking the torso of the Frenchman. Varela counters on the mat however the Marseille fighter just slipped. Valeriu once again tried to bring him down, which Wilson countered with an attempted knee leverage. Valeriu Mircea defeated Wilson Varela by unanimous decision of the judges.
