Volkan Oezdemir and Carlos Ulberg will face each other in a promising bout at UFC Macau. The light heavyweight duel will take place on November 23.
The UFC organization has announced a strong matchup in the up to 93 kilogram category. Volkan Oezdemir will fight Carlos Ulberg. Both fighters are ranked in the top ten of the light heavyweight division ranking. Volkan Oezdemir is ranked sixth while Carlos Ulberg is tenth.
Volkan Oezdemir, 35, is experiencing a small career renaissance. Representing Switzerland, the fighter has scored two wins in a row on his account. “No Time” overall has won three of his last four fights. Although Oezdemir has not beaten the big names, the good performances have allowed him to move up to the sixth position in the ranking. The fighter, who fought for a championship belt in 2018, would probably like to follow up on his best performances and get close to a belt duel again.
Carlos Ulberg quickly built a name in the UFC organization. Although “Black Jag” lost in his debut in the best MMA league in the world, he later recorded a capital series of six wins in a row. The New Zealand representative has defeated his last five opponents before time.
This meant that he was to face a great opportunity at the UFC 303 gala. In late June, Ulberg was scheduled to fight Jamahal Hill, but the champion fell off the schedule due to injury. Later, Carlos was still matched up against Anthony Smith but eventually the New Zealander suffered an injury himself. This led to a significant extension of the break between starts, and at the Macau gala, Ulberg will return to action after more than six months of separation from the octagon.
Volkan Oezdemir and Carlos Ulberg will face off on Saturday, November 23 at the UFC Gala in Macau.
