Will Nate Diaz face Paul again? He responded to the latest challenge

Nate Diaz is ready for another bout against Jake Paul. This time, however, the two would face off not in a boxing ring, but in an MMA cage. This scenario has become much more likely following the merger of PFL and Most Valuable Promotions.

Jake Paul and his Most Valuable Promotions have caused quite a stir in the world of combat sports by announcing a merger with the Professional Fighters League. Starting in 2027, MVP MMA and the PFL are set to operate under a single banner, organizing events in both MMA and boxing.

For “The Problem Child,” this could open the door to his long-awaited mixed martial arts debut. Paul has been talking about the possibility of stepping into the cage for years, ever since he began working with the PFL. His most recent bout, however, was in boxing, where he was knocked out by Anthony Joshua.

Nate Diaz remains one of Paul’s potential rivals. The two have been trading barbs regularly for months, and talk of a rematch continues to surface. Their first bout took place under boxing rules and ended in a victory for Paul. Even then, there were already calls for a second fight, this time in a format Diaz knows all too well.

In connection with the announcement of the merger between Most Valuable Promotions and the PFL, Paul once again brought up the topic of his MMA debut. “The Problem Child” also took the opportunity to directly call out a former UFC fighter.

“Yes, I’ve been talking about MMA for a long time and about how I intend to try my hand at it, but now it’s official, ” Paul said.

“Thanks to this new partnership [between MVP and PFL], I’ll be stepping into the cage. Nate Diaz, stop avoiding me,” he added.

It didn’t take long for Diaz to respond. The former UFC star noticed his former opponent’s jab and sent him a very brief message via X (formerly Twitter).

” Come on over, damn it, Jake,” Diaz wrote.

Paul has not yet responded publicly to his former rival’s post.

Diaz last competed in MMA earlier this year, when he lost to Mike Perry. Prior to that bout, his previous MMA appearance took place at UFC 279. The American defeated Tony Ferguson in the main event, which turned out to be his farewell to the world’s largest MMA organization.

There has also been recent talk of a potential trilogy between Diaz and Conor McGregor. The idea was reportedly being considered before the Irishman’s loss to Max Holloway at UFC 329. Now, however, another high-profile option has emerged. If Paul actually keeps his word and decides to make his MMA debut, a rematch with Diaz would certainly generate a lot of interest.
