Wilson Varela will face Salahdin Parnasse at KSW 101, prior to this bout the fighter from Marseille promises fire in the cage.

Wilson Varela will face a chance to win the KSW lightweight belt. Representing France and Portugal, the fighter will face Salahdin Parnasse. The fight between Varela and Parnasse will be the most important bout of the evening of the KSW 101 gala in Paris.

Wilson Varela trained for the championship clash at the Kill Cliff CF mats where he paired with fighters from the US and Russia. Prototype stressed that while he didn’t feel weaker in stand-up, wrestling is still room for improvement.

– Behind me is a strong camp in Florida at Kill Cliff FC. I trained with real cats. We French don’t stand out from the Americans or Russians that much at all. In stand-up we have almost the same level, but we still have to work on wrestling.

Wilson mentioned that he had already trained for two weeks in the U.S. before his fight with Marian Ziolkowski and then picked up good technique from Robbie Lawler, which he was able to use in the fight. Now Varela has spent a full training camp at Kill Cliff.

– I am very grateful to Henri Hooft, who improved my stand-up both technically and in terms of tactics. I am indebted to Robbie Lawler, who taught me the honeysuckle I used in my last fight against Marian Ziolkowski, and now I had a chance to thank him for that. Before the fight with Marian, two weeks of camp in the States was enough, but before the fight with Salahdine, who is a double KSW champion, I had to do a full preparation camp there.

Finally, Wilson Varela announced a fire in the KSW cage. The fighter also admitted that he and his coaches expected Salahdine Parnasse to leave KSW, but the latter unexpectedly extended his contract with the Polish organization.

– This fight will be spectacular. It will be a tactical clash, but at the same time there will be fire in the cage. I can promise you that I will do everything to take the belt away from him. Salahdine has doubly much to lose. I have nothing to lose in this fight. I am much hungrier for victory than he is, and of that I am 100 percent sure. Salahdine has something I want. It’s not my fault that he stayed in KSW. He could have gone to another organization and that was the option we envisioned with the coaches, but a walk to get the belt will not happen, it will have to be won.
