XTB KSW 118: results and official weigh-in ceremony. Big slip-up before Ziolkowski’s fight

The morning weigh-in before the XTB KSW 118 gala is over. Already on Saturday, the organization will visit Kalisz, where fans will see another important fights in the round cage. Although most of the fighters fit into their contracted limits without any problems, there was also quite a surprise during the morning ceremony.

The fight card features two championship bouts. In the fight of the evening, Piotr Kuberski will face his second defense of the interim middleweight belt against Michal Michalski. In turn, the second most important fight of the event will be the historic women’s cockerel category championship bout between Wiktoria Czyzewska and Sara Luzar-Smajić.

No problems in belt fights, big slip-up for Guih

The most important heroes of the gala filled the weight limits without any problems. Piotr Kuberski weighed in at 83.9 kilograms, while Michal Michalski recorded 83.6 kilograms, making the fight for the interim middleweight belt officially approved.

The participants of the historic clash for the cockerel category belt also fit within the limit. Wiktoria Czyzewska reached 61 kilograms, and Sara Luzar-Smajić 60.8 kilograms. Thus, nothing now stands in the way of the first champion of this division in the organization’s history being crowned at the Kalisz gala.

The situation with Aymard Guih, however, was the most echoed. Marian Ziolkowski’s rival significantly exceeded the lightweight category limit, bringing as much as 72.7 kilograms to the scales, 1.9 kilograms more than the allowed limit. As a result, the fighter will lose 40 percent of his paycheck, and in addition, he will start the fight with a point deducted on the scorecards. This could be of great importance in the context of the duel with the former KSW champion.
