The rematch of their January bout is now behind us. Maciej Różański and Ibragim Chuzhigaev faced off once again.
The former KSW light heavyweight champion returned last year after a several-year hiatus from the octagon. Marcin Wójcik left no room for doubt and knocked him out in the second round. Chuzhigaev was given a chance at redemption in a bout against Maciej Różański.
The bout ended in the second round, but the result was ruled a “No Contest.” It was all due to one of the biggest problems in the world of MMA: exposed fingers. Today, Różański was fighting for his first win since 2024. Back then, he defeated Vojtech Garba by decision.
KSW 120: Chuzhigaev vs. Różański — Who Won?
ROUND 1 – Różański took the center of the cage and skillfully dodged Chuzhigaev’s hook. He tried to take him down, but fell far short of success. Ibragim unleashed a flurry of punches and landed a low kick as well. Różański, however, kept pressuring him the whole time, effectively threatening with his front leg and mixing punches to the head and torso. Chuzhigaev threw dangerous hooks. “Spartan” got into a brawl, from which he didn’t come out on top. His opponent, continuing his offensive, got caught by Różański’s right uppercut to the chin. Chuzhigaev was sliding around the cage, which slowed down his attacks. The Russian with a Turkish passport threw fewer punches, but was nearly as accurate as “Spartan.”
ROUND 2. — Różański once again started with some front-to-front jabs, but Chuzhigaev countered him perfectly! The Pole went down, but quickly got back on his feet. “Million First” didn’t want to burn his energy; he didn’t rush at the Berserker. Chuzhigaev threw a left hook, only to get hit himself. The Pole landed a straight punch and kept Ibragim at a distance. The Turkish-Russian fighter danced on his feet, looking for an opening for a knockout blow. Both threw lefts, and both heads snapped back. Różanski landed a combination to the torso and followed up with a knockdown punch! Chuzhigaev crashed to the canvas, tried to save himself, but ended up in a crucifix hold. “Spartan” kept landing blows, but Chuzhigaev had no intention of giving up. Referee Bosacki urged the former champion to give up until he finally stopped the fight.
RESULT: Maciej Różański won by TKO in the 2nd round.
He waited his opponent out and when the change came he was RELENTLESS 💪 🇵🇱 Maciej Różański with an important win in Light Heavyweight!
