At XTB KSW 121, a bout of immense importance for the balance of power in the welterweight division took place. Former title challenger Muslim Tulshaev faced off against the red-hot Kacper Koziorzębski in a clash between the division’s top-ranked contenders.
Tulshaev returned to the octagon after his first loss in KSW. His impressive four-fight winning streak was finally halted by champion Adrian Bartosiński. The German fighter therefore wanted to quickly reaffirm his aspirations and begin his next journey toward a title shot.
Koziorzębski, on the other hand, was at the peak of his KSW career. “Wiór” had won four consecutive fights, most recently defeating Artur Szczepaniak, and was ranked just behind Tulshaev. A direct showdown between the number one and number two contenders was therefore a huge opportunity for both to take the next step toward the championship.

Kacper was caught several times by Tulshaev’s left hook-right straight combination. “Urus” landed his own shots as well, but Koziorzębski sustained more damage to the head; before the third minute was up, he went down on the canvas after taking a hit! Koziorzębski tried to take the fight to the ground, but it was Tulshaev who threw him over his hip with a cut-off throw! Tulshaev went for “Wiór’s” back, but Koziorzębski managed to get back on his feet. Tulshaev took a few hooks and a spinning elbow at the end, but the round was going to be his… until, with just 7 seconds left, he took a spinning kick straight to the groin. The impact was deafening.
