Makhmud Muradov will return to the cage of the OKTAGON MMA organization after a five-year break. The popular “Mach” spent the last few years fighting for the UFC, but this adventure ended extremely unlucky for the Uzbekistan representative.
Representing Monster Gym and ANKOS MMA clubs, the fighter has only reported in the octagon of the world’s best MMA league seven times. Muradov alternated wins with losses, and his last appearance was declared a no contest after a rival inadvertently stuck his finger in his eye.
The 34-year-old Muradov (26-8, 1 NC) nevertheless still ranks among the best middleweights currently fighting on the old continent. On September 21 in Brno, Makhmud will face Scott Askham, a former KSW federation champion who also has UFC starts to his credit.
Scott Askham (20-6) made his official debut in the Czech-Slovak organization after his split with KSW. At the Oktagon 48 gala, he defeated Marc Doussis by unanimous decision of the judges. The 36-year-old Englishman last fought in November last year, so he has had quite a break from competing.
The Makhmud Muradov vs Scott Askham duel will be the second fight of the evening of the Oktagon 61 gala, with Ronald Paradeiser and Acoidan Duque dueling in the main event.
