Experienced Jan Široký will fight in front of his home crowd at KSW 99 in Ostrava

Jan Široký, a veteran of the Oktagon MMA organization, will fight a young talent at KSW 99 in his hometown of Ostrava.

Fan-favorite local hero from Ostrava, Jan Široký (13-18 1NC, 7 KOs, 3 Sub), will face European talent from the Netherlands, Gino Van Steenis (5-1, 2 KOs, 1 Sub) at the KSW 99 gala in Ostrava. The confrontation will take place on October 19 at the Ostravar Aréna hall.

Jan Široký is one of the more experienced Czech MMA fighters. He has been competing professionally since 2013. He has over 30 fights to his credit. Ten of his thirteen wins were won by finishing his rivals before time. He fought not only in MMA, but also in kickboxing and boxing. In 2020, at the Genesis gala in Poland, he gave an amazing bloody bare fist war with Gracjan Szadzinski. The Fighting Club Ostrava representative has fought most of his fights in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, but has also competed in Germany, England and Poland.

Gino Van Steenis has one fight under his belt in KSW. In January of this year he faced Hugo Deux in the round cage, but had to acknowledge his superiority in the cage. It was the first loss in the career of the fighter from the Netherlands. Previously, Gino fought four fights, all of which he won, three of them ended before time, and twice he triumphed already in the first round. After fighting in KSW, Van Steenis returned to the road of victories by beating in Germany. The Dutch representative also has amateur confrontations and fights in kickboxing. In addition to Poland and Germany, Van Steenis has also fought in his home country, England and Denmark.
