Alex Pereira is demanding a fight with Dricus Du Plessis. The Brazilian called the middleweight champion a troll and a clown. The South African representative quickly responded to the taunts.

Alex Pereira will appear in the evening fight of the UFC 307 gala in Salt Lake City. The welterweight champion will defend his title in a bout with Khaled Rountree. The Brazilian is thus scheduled to clash on October 5.

Nonetheless, Pereira hooks Dricus Du Plessis, the current UFC middleweight champion, every now and then. Alex has indicated that he wants to move down to the lower category again, and in the process has stuck a pin in the African.

– Dricus is certainly an easier opponent than Jon Jones. I think making weight would be harder for me than the fight with Du Plessis alone. I needed a 2-3 fight break from competing in the limit up to 84 kilograms, so that my body would recover. Now I am ready for it. Everything depends on Dricus. I showed interest in this fight many times however he never wrote back.

– He never takes anything seriously, he always makes fun of everything. This was the case when he mentioned Strickland. He is a regular troll. In my opinion, this proves that he is afraid of me. Why didn’t he say: “UFC make me fight Pereira”. Clown.

Dricus Du Plessis did not have to wait long for an answer. The African was quick to respond to Pereira.

– A frightened clown? How dare you! This has gone a step too far. After all, I already said that I can fight you or Strickland. What more do you want? Should I tag your interpreter?

Given the timing of Pereira’s fight with Rountree, it does not appear that the champion of the welterweight division will be ready for another start later this year. Therefore, if a fight between Alex Pereira and Dricus Du Plessis occurs, it should rather be expected in 2025.
