When Cezary Oleksiejczuk announced the continuation of his contract extension with FEN many people were strongly surprised by this. Now the former champion has surprised with another decision.

Cezary Oleksiejczuk is undefeated in the cage of the FEN organization since 2021. The younger of the Oleksiejczuk brothers has recorded eight victories in Fight Exclusive Night during that time. Although Czarek has yet to lose in FEN he has lost his championship belt. All because of a defeat during a one-off appearance outside the organization, at the Khan Fight 3 gala in Turkey.

In July, news broke that Cezary Oleksiejczuk had signed a new contract with FEN. Now Jakub Borowicz, the organization’s president, has revealed the secret about the former champion’s future. It turns out that Cezary Oleksiejczuk will change to a higher weight class.

– Cezary Oleksiejczuk’s fights in FEN will be in the middleweight category. Is the middleweight category for Czarek Oleksiejczuk a good idea? We’ll see. It would probably be possible to cut down to welterweight for a while, but some time ago Czarek had to put a lot of effort into cutting down to 77.1kg, and it wasn’t always an easy job – I know, because unlike the opinion makers on Twitter – I saw it with my own eyes.

– Below are photos of Czarek after his first fight at FEN (February 2021) and after the last one (March 2024) + a photo between the fights, where Czarek – by eye – weighs about 95kg. The middleweight category is, after all, globally at a slightly lower level than the welterweight + a different matchmaker is in charge of this category in the UFC, which may not be insignificant (e.g. Michal). We’ll see. Certainly Czarek’s appetite likes this decision.
