Dana White has said when to expect Conor McGregor’s return to the UFC octagon. The head of the organization does not believe it will happen this year.

Tuesday marked exactly 38 months since Conor McGregor ‘s last fight in the octagon of the UFC organization. The former champion of two weight categories fought his last bout in July 2021. At that time, the Irishman lost to Dustin Poirier and suffered a leg injury that ruled him out of competition for a very long time.

When Conor McGregor returned to form unsurprisingly he made the decision to pursue a career in Hollywood. “Notorious” played one of the leading roles in the remake of the film “Road House.” Time passed and it was finally announced that McGregor would return to the cage at the end of June at UFC 303 to finally face Michael Chandler.

However, the fight did not materialize due to a fracture of the little toe in his foot, which Conor suffered during training. Dana White was skeptical about McGregor’s return:

– Listen to me, I told you from the very beginning that I don’t know if Conor will fight this year, even when he announced that he would.

The head of the UFC organization in an interview with the New York Post Sports said:

– Conor McGregor will fight next year, early in 2025. He’s had a long enough break. As for whether he’s hungry to compete, he’s very rich, so we’ll find out when he gets to the octagon. He is certainly a superstar who has taken the sport in Europe and around the world to another level.
