Islam Makhachev commented on Merab Dvalishvili’s win in the championship fight at UFC 306 in Las Vegas.
Islam Makhachev is the current champion of the UFC organization in the lightweight category. The Dagestanian has been impressing in recent years with his excellent form and is considered by many to be the best fighter without weight class division.
Islam apparently watched the UFC 306 gala, as he turned to Merab Dvalishvili after it ended. The Georgian won the championship belt at Noche UFC by confidently defeating Sean O’Malley. Here’s what Makhachev wrote about Merab’s victory.
– Welcome to the champions league Merab! Congratulations! I can’t wait to see your first defense in your clash with Umar Nurmagomedov. That’s what champions do, defend the title against anyone the UFC puts in front of them.
Islam Makhachev didn’t so much congratulate Dvalishvili on his win as simply encourage him to fight Umar Nurmagomedov, which is Khabib‘s clubmate and cousin.
