Piotr Kuberski commented on his situation before the KSW 100 gala. The fighter is unhappy that he was advised as Pawlak’s opponent, and suddenly everything changed.
Piotr Kuberski is inconsolable about how the situation regarding his fight at the KSW 100 gala in Gliwice played out. The ANKOS MMA fighter mentioned that he had already faced Pawel Pawlak during the broadcast of the KSW gala in July. Kuberski found out a few weeks later that he would not be the Lodz resident’s opponent at KSW 100, however.
In the end, Pawel Pawlak will not perform at all at KSW 100 due to a knee injury. This has created additional confusion in the middleweight category. The most aggrieved in the whole situation is precisely Piotr Kuberski, who frankly and extensively commented on the topic on the pages of the InTheCage.pl portal.
– I’ll say this, a lot of fans don’t know this. In part I also did it on purpose, I hooked him a little bit because, as we know, Paul fell out. I say: okay, then maybe we could make it about a temporary one. It’s obvious that Mamed probably won’t accept it, but I was just a little… maybe not hurt, because I’m very much in favor of the Pawlak vs. Mamed fight, but I felt really bad that we were already set up, it was face to face, everyone saw everything, and in the end it turned out differently. And for this reason I was very sorry and very sad, but that’s the way the sport is.
– A little bit in the wrong way it was done all. When did I find out? A few days ago. So very much everything is fresh in my mind. To this day it still sticks in me and I am very sorry. It hurt me because I try to be as fair as possible. You know… something you work for, you set your sights on, you’re at a certain gala dressed nicely in a shirt, it’s face to face at the cameras, we meet, we shake a pawn at each other, and suddenly a month or two months later it turns out that someone else is entering my fight.
– It’s not only still about my pride, but it’s also about that… sponsors. Let’s not hide, a smaller payout, because it is no longer counted times 5, but times 3 (number of rounds). The number of tickets sold, because here, too, there is no hiding the fact that fewer fans will come to a ranking fight than to a championship fight or a fight with Mamed. And so I’m at a loss, let’s call it… business-wise.
Later, the repoter asked Piotr Kuberski if he was then ready to perform at the KSW 100 gala if the federation offered him another opponent.
– Well I think so because I was announced at KSW, by the way, that’s what Wojek said, so I think so. Just because Pawlak dropped out doesn’t mean that I dropped out. I hope Artur will do everything to make it so. Off the record: we want to fight. We will see how it all comes out, it is known. There are talks going on. I hope they will be positive for me. I am preparing for November, that much I can say. And what will come out I don’t know yet.
