Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler will face each other in a five-round bout at UFC 309 in New York. Dana White commented on the subject of Chandler’s fight with McGregor.
Michael Chandler is not going to wait any longer for Conor McGregor to be ready to compete. The American has declared his readiness to fight another opponent and the UFC organization immediately took advantage of the situation. Matchmakers have matched Chandler again with Charles Oliveira.
Thus, on November 16 at UFC 309 in New York there will be a fight Charles Oliveira vs. Michael Chandler 2. In the first clash the Brazilian was the winner, who hit his opponent with a left hook, and then hit him with ground and pound punches.
Michael Chandler quickly explained his decision:
– I think many of you have forgotten that I did six full camps from October 2020 to November 2022. One when I was a reserve before the championship fight well and I fought five fights. Four of them were awarded bonuses including one for fight of the year. That’s why I decided to take the fight with Charles Oliveira.
– I want to get back at him. He destroyed my dreams of a world title, and now if I can beat him I will undoubtedly be the number one contender and depending on Makhachev’s health situation I can face the champion or Arman Tsarukyan. If Conor embraces then maybe one day we will make a fight, but certainly not now.
Dana White also addressed the topic. During the interview, the UFC boss revealed that Michael Chandler will definitely not be Conor McGregor ‘s opponent in his first fight after his return. The Irishman reacted to all the information with rage, insulting everyone around him and demanding an official return date from the UFC.
